Dr. Lacey L. Schmidt is the Chief Operations Officer of Minerva Work Solutions. She began her professional career as a HR coordinator in Employee Relations for Motorola and the Variable Annuities Life Insurance Company (VALIC-American General), before continuing on to her graduate training.
Lacey received her doctorate in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the University of Houston. During her graduate training, she was a research analyst supporting the Biobehavioral Laboratory at NASA-JSC; and was the organizational psychology consultant on a grant to reduce attrition among nurses at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital. Lacey has also worked in employee selection and development with an international consulting firm, Jeanneret and Associates, Inc., and as an organizational development consultant for ARAMARK Health Services.
From 2007 until the completion of astronaut selection in 2013, Lacey served as the Sr. Scientist in Astronaut Selection and Training for NASA’s behavioral health and performance group. She also worked for a year with the City of Houston to help improve selection and promotional testing practices for the third largest fire department in United States.
Lacey is a member of the International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), as well as the Society for Industrial Organizational Psychologists (SIOP) and the American Psychological Association (APA).
