Recently, all of our managing consultants attended NASA Human Research Program’s Investigators’ Workshop to learn more about building and sustaining Ultra High Performing Teams.
Minerva Work Solutions, PLLC is proud to contribute our research time and ideas in support of long-duration human space exploration; and we also consider ourselves lucky to have these kind of chances to learn about the latest research supporting team building, composition, development and training in extreme environments. We believe many of these discoveries can be leveraged by all kinds of teams in every industry to become Ultra High Performing Teams.
There are two keys things we learned about Ultra High Performing Teams from attending NASA’s workshop that we would like to share with you:
1) Teams must be able to shift and share leadership roles as well as leadership styles and models to successfully adapt to contextual challenges–and it is possible to select, compose, and train teams to do this.
2) There are many new tools to help teams monitor and correct their own performance in real time on a continuous basis–and doing so helps minimize risks and errors, as well as improves team performance.
